Flat-top and tubular fencing is cheap — but its horizontal rails hand little hands and feet a ready-made ladder, the thin sections bend and weaken with knocks and time, and its gaps can catch fingers. Australian standards call out the openings that catch small fingers (roughly the 8–25 mm "no-go" range), require gaps under 100 mm so children can't squeeze through, and set non-climbable and height rules for pool barriers and balustrades. Perf Safe®'s perforation is engineered to sit outside those danger ranges, and the solid-sheet design removes the footholds that make other fences climbable.
