Finger entrapment happens when an opening is just the wrong size to catch a small child's finger — broadly the 8–25 mm range flagged by Australian playground and equipment standards (and 5–25 mm for drainage grates). Perf Safe®'s perforation pattern is engineered so openings sit outside that danger range, removing the hazard by design.

Yes. Guidance for early-childhood and play spaces requires that gaps in fences and gates — including under the fence and between elements — do not exceed 100 mm so a child cannot squeeze through. Perf Safe® is specified and installed to keep all gaps under 100 mm.

Yes. Where the barrier also encloses a pool or spa, we build the panel to meet AS 1926.1 pool-barrier requirements, including non-climbable zones and height. One Perf Safe® product can serve as pool fence, balustrade and play-yard boundary at once.

Where the fence doubles as a balustrade on a deck, balcony or raised area, we specify it to the National Construction Code (NCC) and AS 1170 loading requirements for barriers, with structurally reinforced panels.

Perf Safe® is a single perforated aluminium sheet, so there are no horizontal rails, rungs or footholds. With nothing to grip or stand on, it is the most difficult children's fence to climb — unlike flat-top or tubular fencing whose rails act as a ladder.
